I'M AN ARTIST RUNNING AFTER THE UBERJanuary 16, 2017
Over the weekend, I did it. It was my first time, and I was really nervous, but I did it! Yes, I Ubered for the very first time! (;
Friday... My sister's birthday is this Thursday, she had more than expressed that she wanted to go to a paint and sip, so I made that happen. I can't even tell you in words how much fun we had! From the other people at our table, the atmosphere, the instructor, the expectation our stuff would turn out wretched. I mean, it was a blast. Do a paint and sip! Seriously, DO IT!
Joshua dropped us off and luckily it was only a three minute drive from our house. I knew we'd be out til 10 PM or later, so my sister and I decided we'd try to Uber. I'd never done so, but our friends do it constantly and I figured with my sister and armed two huge pieces of wood, we were probably safe from a serial killer, right?
If you've never Ubered, let me give you a little run down. Download the app, put in your credit card info, and schedule your pick up time. They send you a pick up window, a photo of your driver and what car to expect, (which I totally made Jess screenshot to Joshua in case we were never seen again, precautions, right?). Our driver pulled in the parking lot and started going the opposite direction, to which I responded by hauling you know what after her, my big hunk-o-wood in one hand and my last remaining bottle of Mike's Hard Peach in the other. Did I look foolish? Slightly, but I was so worried he'd leave us and we'd be stranded, and Joshua would never let me live down that we couldn't figure out how to Uber correctly. It was great, I'd totally do it again!
Saturday... I slept it. haha that was a lie, but did you believe it for a second? My sister obviously spent the night, and when my dog had licked the crap out of her face, and woke her up, we enjoyed coffee and breakfast and watched a Disney movie with Pen. Of course Pen didn't want to watch the cartoon Disney movie and cried the entire time that she wanted to watch "Return of da guy die," which in Penny language means "Return of the Jedi."
After Pen's nap, my sister's mental nap, and me doing a recycling run, we got ready and went to my Grandma's house to celebrate my mom, cousin, and sister's birthdays.
Sunday... I actually slept in, kinda. Joshua was off to work, Pen and I got up and had breakfast, and took care of 8 babies (dolls). We watched "Return of da guy die," in the process and I managed to somehow squeeze in a chapter of my book and a load of laundry in all of that. #momming.
We had lunch at his dads, Terminator 3 was on, which I realized I'd only seen one time and was slightly disappointed in my overly nerdy self, and totally realized I need to take a vacation day from work and binge all of them.
two books I've finished this month. reviews coming at the end of the month!I went to the grocery store, which I know is totally exciting and you're so happy I'm sharing it with you. My aunt came over to kill an hour of time while her youngest mall- walked. Remember those days? Those teen days our mom's would drop us at the mall to mall-walk. We wouldn't buy anything and just make laps and giggle at boys who were also mall-walking. Sigh, those were the days.
We had a gourmet dinner of grilled cheese and tomato soup last night, had an impromptu dance party with our Echo Dot, and Pen hit the hay early after skipping a daily nap. Joshua and I started A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix and made it two episodes before calling it a night. We like it, I can already tell you it's more like the books than that weird movie adaptation they tried to make happen.
That was a super exciting weekend in a nutshell. How was yours?!
