DECEMBER EMPTIESJanuary 11, 2017
Here's what I used up in December!
Arm & Hammer Peroxicare - Forever having issues with my gums since having Penny almost three years ago. This helps, but only to a point. I have purchased it over and over and probably will until I find something better. ~$3
Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera *CF *GF *V - I believe this is my third bottle of this stuff. One of which I've shared one here before, the other I believe was in that two month period where I took a blogging break.
→Would I buy it again? Heck yes! For the last 4 months, I have been using this as well as Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar to combat pesky hormonal acne breakouts on my neck. Yes, neck! It's so irritating when your face is clear and your have these terrible cystic bumps all over your neckline. I knew there had to be a reason for it, so after a lot of my own research, and talking to my OB, we concluded it was adult, hormonal acne. A super common thing in women my acne, but very different from those acne breakouts from high school. I use the Rose petal witch hazel both night and day and switch to the Apple cider vinegar during that time of the month. With that system, I can keep my neck pretty clear. ~$10
Crest Pro Health Mouth Wash - Just a standard mouth wash. Trying different ones out here and there to see if any make an impact on my gums. ~$6
ColourPop Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Strength *CF - I have no regrets admitting I hoped on the ColourPop train when it blew up, but I have to say that now a days, I don't find myself reaching for their products.
→Would I buy it again? Technically, I can't. Strength was a collaboration with the YouTuber, Coffee Break with Dani. I still really enjoy Dani's videos and find her spirit warm and inviting. Strength was a very creamy, basic matte brown. It was easy to use up. I mean how many of us find ourselfs reaching for a nice matte brown on an every day basis? ColourPop shadows take some work though. Especially if they contain any sort of shimmer. I've become a palette person recently, so I do not see me purchasing any sort of eyeshadow singles in the near future. $5
Reviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum *CF, *GF, *V - Picked this up a few months ago off of Vitacost for half the price of what Ulta retails it for. After I was pretty impressed with their under eye serum I thought I had nothing to lose.
→Would I buy it again? Perhaps. This was one of those products that didn't do bad, but didn't really do anything other than my every day moisturizer. $10.99
Revlon Lash Glue - For years I was using the Duo lash glue, and actually think this is better.
→Would I buy it again? For now, no. I go through phases where I wear false lashes. Right now, I'm not into it, and I've been all about a simple eye look, mascara, and putting all my focus into foundation and making my face look flawless yet natural. I'm sure I'll get back into it again. I love wearing lashes for photo sessions. ~$5
Now Foods Apple Cider Vinegar Pills - Still loving these after first talking about them in my October empties post. They really keep my skin manageable! I have been taking three with breakfast and three before bed. ~$8
Mane and Tail Moisture Shampoo - I broke down and bought this because it's one of those products I had been hearing about since I was a kid. It's dirt cheap, and I thought what the heck.
→Would I buy it again? I've really torn on this product. After the first week, my hair was really glossy, shiny and I was impressed. After about three weeks, I had terrible build up! Perhaps this could be great used sparingly? For now, I'll be passing on this stuff. It did work nicely on the dog. ~$2
Essence Lash Princess False Lash effect mascara - Have you ever had one of those, "am I doing it wrong," moments in life? That's how I feel about this mascara. Everyone loves it, so why didn't it work for me?
→Would I buy it again? I'm thinking no. The great reviews and buzz around it forced me to search for it at my local Ulta. I was so excited to try it and the first day, flaky mess all over my face. I was so shocked to look at my makeup halfway through the day and see little black flakes everywhere. I tried making this work for about a month until I threw in the towel. Just didn't work for me. ~$5
Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser - Stephanie sent me this sample to try out and I'd never tried anything from the brand before. The cleanser warms in your hands as you work it into your skin and I was pretty impressed by that.
→Would I buy it? I tried to find the $10 travel size of this last time I was at Sephora to give it another go. They didn't carry it. I'm not sure if I loved it, but I really liked it. Since I only used up a deluxe trial size, I'm still on the fence about it, but will probably throw on the travel size to my next online Sephora purchase. Full size, $30.
