A LOT OF NOTHINGJanuary 09, 2017
I will get three posts up this week. I will get three posts up this week. I will. Sorry, trying to convince myself that I need to get back into the swing of things and accept that the holidays are over. Today marks the first official full work week of 2017 and I'm parts crying, but parts happy pay day is at the end of the tunnel. How was my weekend? Did I build things and paint and sand until I no longer had finger prints? Nope, but I rearranged a picture table.
It was one of those weekends. It was unrealistically cold, I didn't want to move. You know, typical Ohio winter weekend. Zero home updates were done, but I did rearrange things a bit on our white washed picture table. I have become that person that rearranges something every time I walk by it.
I found these sage green colored frames (though in photos they are pulling a bit bluer) from Pat Catan's (remember last week I said I've practically taken up residence there). With their club program, they were on sale for $8 each. Not bad for frame. I bought one originally, but loved the pop of color against the white, so I went back and snagged a second one while they were on sale. The wood slab is a wedding decoration and the coffee mug is, well, from my kitchen, with two little fake Magnolia flowers left over from last weekend's DIY.
During last week's Weekending recap, I mentioned we hand handed the once glossy finish off our mantle and exposed a lot of the wood grain. Then, I stained it with Minwax Special Walnut and Weathered Oak. It still turned out a bit warmer than I wanted it to be, but looks way better than it did!
What did you do over the weekend?
