NOVEMBER EMPTIESDecember 14, 2016
Oops, posting this a little later than I intended, but oh well. Besides my little "blog break" a few months back when we were being pulled a zillion different directions, I have done quite the number on products. Using something all the way up is not only super rewarding, but it makes me feel like I have official "review rights" on a particular product. Even more so if I have used a product up more than once, which if you have read these empties posts, happens from time to time. Here's what I used up in the month of November!
Jason Soothing Sea Kelp Shampoo *CF - I bought this on a total whim back in June when I made my very first vitacost haul! Yes, JUNE! Joshua and I both use this, though I will admit a few small bottles were purchased of other brands here and there. However, this stuff was major bang for my buck and actually held up to a lot of it's claims.
Would I buy it again? Probably. They aren't lying when they say everyday shampoo. It's a basic line, with simple ingredients and a clean smell. Reviews have warmed if you have thin hair as this can be quite heavy. I found I cannot use it exclusively for it causes a slight build up. For me, that's a normal part of using these types of natural products as they are free of a lot of the things that prevent build up. $8.99 (on vitacost).
Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel *CF, *GF, *V - My cabinet will never be without witch hazel. It's seriously one of the biggest skincare staples and I swear by it's magic.
Would I buy it again? This is actually my second bottle of this particular brand. It's a great brand, but I find it to be slightly drying. I prefer the Thayer's Rose Petal Witch toner, as I just see better, faster results from it minus the tight dry feeling. ~ $5
Rimmel London Match Perfecting Concealer - If you're looking for an inexpensive fuss free concealer this is it.
Would I buy it again? Yes. This product has been on the market forever. I used to use this in high school! Earlier this year, I picked it up again because I remembered liking it in the past. To my surprise, it's still excellent and does a fabulous job covering redness. $6
Sibu Seabuckthorn Sea berry Seed Oil *CF, *V - This is my second bottle of seabuckthorn oil from this particular brand. I used up the first during my September blogging break, and when we moved, I wanted to give it another go.
Would I buy it again? This brand, no. My skin loves seabuckthorn oil, but I have found another brand, Seabuck Wonders, that I feel works better, and is a little more cost effective. For me, this product works best when mixed with my regular moisturizer a few times a week before bed. Seabuckthorn Oil is known for it's healing properties both internally and externally! ~$10 (1.0 ml Seabuck Wonders is more product).
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - I try to replace these once a month due to my skin sensitives. I have found that washing them isn't always worth it since I can find these on sale for as little as $4 at my local drug mart. I love these sponges and the price point!
Fiona Stiles Matte Foundation - I have found the best foundation ever. Period.
Would I buy it again? Of course! This is probably the first ever FULL bottle of foundation I have ever used. I literally have nothing bad to say about this stuff. The color is perfect, the formula is lightweight, and set with a translucent powder, it lasts all day long with no flash back. I wore it on my wedding day and every single day since I purchased it.
Believe me when I say I have literally tried it all. When I saw this brand, carried at Ulta.com and select Ulta stores, it intrigued me. This brand wasn't another flashy cosmetic brand backed by celebrities or Youtube gurus. It was simple, founded by a true makeup artist, with stunning packaging. I was so impressed with the quality of this product, that it's lead me to more Fiona Stiles purchases. Check this brand out! You won't be disappointed! $30
Arm and Hammer Peroxicare - We've been using this for several months because my gums still suck.
Softsoap Fresh and Glow - Do you ever find yourself suddenly running out of body wash in what seems like no time at all? That was us in this situation when we moved. So I ran out to Walgreen's and picked this up.
Would I buy it again? Probably not. I don't care for the brand. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, I just think there are way better body washes out there. ~$2.97
NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face powder - Finding a $3 face powder that works as hard as your $30 face powder is literally the most satisfying feeling.
Would I buy this again? For sure, and I have! I just hate that I can only find it at Target. (I mean, not really, I'm there at least once a week). I have a few loose setting powders since I have become all I hate and started baking my face a few months ago. I finally caved to a trend I thought was stupid and I take it back. I take it ALL back. Baking is amazing. Nothing on my face creases. Nothing. Gone are the days I'd have to wipe under my eyes three hours into the work day because my concealer break apart. Gone are the weird holes on either side of my nose caused by my apparently large nostrils. I'm matte, I'm happy, and this stuff is crazy good!
