WISDOM TEETH AND WINDOWS

November 21, 2016

    Long time no blog? Not sure what prompted my week long break, other that just being very busy in my personal life. Good busy, don't get me wrong, but busy! How about a weekend recap?

Friday... Bless Joshua for putting up with me. Seriously he has to love me to put up with some of my antics. For example, driving me to get two hundred year old barn windows in the middle of nowhere from a stranger I met on Craigslist, just after getting a wisdom tooth removed. All the while, chewing on gauze and not complaining a bit. Love, real, raw love.

    In addition to our window adventure, we had his mom keep Pen for a bit and the two of us had a little impromptu date night. We sat at the bar, I ordered a pumpkin mojito; these things never happen. Both of us stuffed ourselves full of buffalo cauliflower and truffle fries and cracked jokes about the wasted 21 year olds next to us.

Saturday... Was I surprised to wake up to snow Saturday after enjoying a coat-less 70 degree day Friday? You bet, but being an Ohioan, it didn't surprise me that much. While Joshua worked, Pen and I made breakfast and cuddled under a blanket. When Joshua got home, the two of them napped while I went out to run errands. Errands I did run and spent way too much money in the process. (;

a little sneak peek.

    Joshua purchased some miscellaneous ceramic buildings from Goodwill a few weeks ago, and while practical, they didn't quite flow with our living room. I knew painting them would be easy, we just needed to decide on a color. I'm going to have a post all about our little up cycle so watch for that!

early morning snuggles
Sunday... A lot of you know my love for the wizarding world, so of course I went to see Fantastic Beasts and where to find them on it's opening weekend. Penelope headed for a fun day with two of her Grandparents, and me, Joshua, and my mom headed to the theater. Our theater recently upgraded to those lounger type seats that recline with all the fancy buttons and what not. It was a bit much, but different and I have mixed feelings. The movie blew my mind and lit up my little magic loving heart. Go see it!

    After the movie, my mom and I went to lunch and did a bit of grocery shopping together. Joshua had taken Kylo to Joshua's mom's for some play time with her dog. Something we try to do at least once a week. I came home after grocery shopping to an empty house. It was so weird, so quiet and I didn't know what to do with myself. I ultimately laid on the couch under a warm blankie and played on Pinterest while kinda sort watching tv until Pen got home.

    Oh yeah, and this happened. If you look at the state of the skirt, you can tell how it's going so far with the puppy. In the past, we've always had a real tree, but decided on going the fake route this year due to the chewing puppy. I've heard horror stories about what can happen if dogs eat pine needles, so fake we went.

    Pen had a blast putting ornaments on the tree and I think she actually kind of "gets" it this year. She was actually being bad right before bedtime and I threatened her and told her I was having lunch with Santa today. Oh yea, I've become one of those moms. hahaha.

How was your weekend?
Did you put up the tree?
