OCTOBER EMPTIES

November 11, 2016

Let's leave all the bitterness of the election in the past shall we? Onto more important blogger type things, like, what went into my recycling last month? I know we skipped both August and September, in light of an ever hectic whirlwind of emotions and scheduling, but today, I am back in the saddle again (yes, I lurvvve Aerosmith) with what I used up in October!

Acure Sensitive Facial Cleanser *CF *V - Since this move, I've just wanted to simplify everything. Including my skincare. I still have two other cleansers I am trying to make my way through, but I can say this one was a huge front runner.

Would I buy it again? YES! My skin seemed to love this stuff and as I work other cleansers out of my routine, I can safely say this one will be coming back. It's creamy texture, and odorless formula did wonders for my finicky skin. ~$8

Yes to Blueberries Repairing Daily Moisturizer *CF - I snagged this at my local Walgreens for super cheap. I discovered the product recently went through a packaging change, and that's why I got it for nearly half off.

Would I buy it again? For now, no. This was a great moisturizer, though too thick for me to use during the day. My oily combo skin doesn't react well with a thick moisturizer AND foundation, so this was strictly a nighttime product. Yes to products are hit or miss for me, and this didn't do anything bad to my skin, but it also didn't do anything great. Trying to find a staple moisturizer that is fragrance free. ~$16

Coconut Oil - I've purchased this time and time again and it's made a few Empties posts. I buy mine at Aldi for about $3.

Suave Kids 2 in 1 Paraben and Dye Free - FINALLY a kids bath product without nasty paraben preservatives and synthetic dyes that I don't have to take out a loan to buy. In the past, we loved the Honest Company's shampoo and body wash, but at $10 a bottle it was irritating. Especially using a bottle and a half every month.

Would I buy it again? Yes, and I have. This stuff is tear free and leaves Penny's hair soft, but not in a full-of-silicone type of way. We love this stuff and I love the price. ~$2.50

Acure Oil Free Moisturizer *CF, *V - Another great product from Acure. This performed quite well under a full face of makeup, and kept shine to a "normal."

Would I buy it again? Right now, I am using a Trader Joe's oil free moisturizer that seems to have all the bells and whistles of the Acure kind, but a little more bang for the buck. It doesn't mean I would be going back to this stuff one day though. ~$14

Reviva Labs Firming Eye Cream - I purchased this back in June so it's lasted more than the price would suggest. I used this about every other night, to combat the dry spots I get under my eyes. This left a smooth base for my foundation and obsession with baking.

Would I buy it again? Yes! I probably will with my next Vitacost order! Vitacost has the very best price, Ulta will rip you off on this entire brand! $8.99

Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant - I think they were out of our typical Arm & Hammer toothpaste, so I thought I'd give this a shot.

Would I buy it again? Nope. My gums need all the extras that come with the other kind we've been using. $5.88

Miss Spa Hydrate Mask - In case you're wondering, I still love these. Apparently everyone else does too, because this particular one seems to be tricky to find.

NOW foods Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules - We've been hearing about the wonders of ACV for years. Like many, I did the proverbial eye roll and shunned the trend. Until....

Would I buy these again? About a week after we moved, I realized I had stopped remembering to take these. The move, the wedding, both were huge factors. My face started to explode with acne. My back and neck were suddenly covered in hard, painful cystic acne bumps (I bet you're eating, aren't you...). I thought to myself if cant be all because of these pills? Can it? So, I took them that night and literally the next day, I woke up and half of those cysts were gone, or lessened in size. Needless to say, I'm going to keep buying these. $8- $13

*V products
*GF gluten free products
*CF not tested on animals

That's all folks! Remember to hug all the veterans in your life and thank them for serving this country we all love. Also remember to be kind, understanding, and most of all respectful to all those different people you may come into contact with over the weekend. We will never agree on everything, but we can come together as a people and show the world that different minds and be brilliant.
