JUNE EMPTIESJuly 08, 2016
Another month closes, and another heap of empty bottles and jars makes it's way to a little purple basket in my bathroom. This pile of trash is surprisingly satisfying. Let's discus!
Arm & Hammer Sensitive Toothpaste - This has baking soda, and whitening "stuff" in it.
→Would I buy it again? I've since switched to a different Arm & Hammer toothpaste. I have been having issues with my teeth for several months now, but figured out it isn't my teeth, but more my gums. For now, it doesn't fit my needs. ~$4
Honest Company Shampoo and Bodywash, Sweet Orange Vanilla Scent *CF- My favorite for Pen's hair!
→Would I buy again? Yes, and I have. $9.99
Pacifica Sea Foam Cleanser *CF, *V - You know that song, "Cake by the Ocean?" Ever wanted to know what exactly "Cake by the Ocean" smells like? I imagine this? Not kidding when I say this stuff smells rad. Unfortuneatly scents can cause a bit of a uneasiness with speicfic skin types.
→Would I buy it again? No. I did love the smell, and used the entire bottle, washing my chest, back, and arms with it. As for my face, it caused a very mild irritation, mostly likely from the fragrance. My face is soooo sensitive. This isn't anything new and certainly isn't enough for me to say this is a bad product. I think if you have normal skin, and are just looking for a basic cleanser, this would be a great cruelty free option. $9.99
L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black - If you're wondering the differences between this and the original L'Oreal Telescopic, let me assure you, there is one, but I can't put my finger on it.
→Would I buy it again? No. This wasn't a bad mascara, but it wasn't anything special either. $9.99
Arm & Hammer Essentials Fresh Deodorant - Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a super budget friendly healthy deodorant. Aluminum, and paraben free, even my dad has started using this stuff.
→Would I buy it again? Yes, this isn't my first tube either. I used it back April too. For now, I'm trying something new I purchased from Vitacost, but I see myself coming back to this stuff. $2!
By Nature from New Zealand sheet masks- I cannot find anything about this brand. Perhaps it's just that new and it's yet to make an impact on consumers?
→Would I buy these again? Yes, and I have. These can be purchased for about $8 for a pack of 5. What sets them apart from the Miss Spa masks, which are pictured above, and I still enjoy using, is their superior ingredients. Aloe vera an manuka honey, a proven acne fighter, are just a couple of these ingredients, making this mask a soothing face cocktail. My only complaint, is they dry faster. As in my skin literally drinks up these masks. I'd also love to be able to find information on their ethics and practices as a company.
Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave in conditioner *CF, *V- I have decided that I much prefer styling sprays over creams. With that being said, this, as a product was great!
→Would I buy it again? The black vanilla, no. I was not a fan of the smell. It was very strong and musky. The brand carries another scent and after I finish my current curl cream, I'll be trying that out next. $11
Boots Botanics Rose Spritz - You know I love this stuff. $8
A jar of good oil unrefined, virgin coconut oil - For oil pulling, for hair, for cooking, for taking my makeup off. $4-$10
Pixi Glow Tonic *CF, *V, *GF- When something is super hyped, you want to love it. You want to wake up glowing like JLO after 4 hours of hair and makeup. You want to feel like a bomb shell. I picked this stuff up after using the sample size, which was literally one use...
→Would I buy it again? Sadly no. It smelled awesome, and said smell didn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin. So you get an A for that Pixi. As far a toners go, I just felt it made no real difference. Not like Thayers and Andalou toners. The experience was "meh" but it helped me discover another Pixi product I'm fallen in freaking love for. I'm choking on these dreaded basic girl words, but dare I say, it's become holy grail status. There, I said it. You'll see it in next months empties post. $15
Jason Apricot Scrub *CF *GF option here- This is literally St. Ives Apricot scrub only cruelty free.
→Would I buy it again? Even it's St Ives twin is a little too rough for me. In terms of scrubs, I will be sticking with the St Ives Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange. $9
Maybelline Lash Sensational - Pretty awesome mascara, at drugstore prices!
→Would I buy it again? It's a great mascara, so many one day. I have just been wanting to try new ones for awhile now. $8.99
You Are Amazing Vanilla Bean Final Spritz *CF- I've never been a big body mist person, so I really have no idea why I purchased this.
→Would I buy it again? No. Like I said, not a body spray/ splash gal. I am still very new to this brand, and used up a bottle of their Vanilla Bean body lotion back in April. This scent smells awesome, and I was very pleased with the lotion. I will be picking up more of their products that suit me in the future. ~$3
Elf hydrating serum *CF, *GF- I first reviewed this back in April, and thought it had great potential to be a stand out part of my skincare regime.
→Would I buy it again? No. After finishing a second bottle, I was a little underwhelmed. Consistency wise, it's very lotiony, and perhaps it was really only giving whatever moisturizer I was using at the time a little boost. $9.
Laneige Firming Sleep Mask Deluxe Sample - Last month, I talked about the pink yogurt mask in this sample kit I puchased at Target.
→Would I buy them again? No. I didn't regret buying them, since their sample size was actually quite generous, I just didn't find anything spectacular about them. set is $5
Honest Company Detangler Spray *CF- We have gone through bottle after bottle of this stuff and I don't see us stopping any time soon. I am so used to this smell, that I identify it with the way Pen smells. It's so good! $5.99
Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Conditioner *CF, *GF- This product was just ok. I wanted it to do miracle things, and it performed basic, at best. I also found it caused a slight build up my typical clarifying shampoo was having a hard time breaking.
→Would I buy it again? This particular one, no. I feel as though it was just not the right fit for my hair. I am interested to see what other products Hask has in store. $5
Sibu Nourishing Face Cream *CF, *V, *GF - Join me, on the fence.
→Would I buy it again? I think I'm going to have to. I didn't dislike this, but I didn't love it. As the Elf serum, I think this is one of those products I've have to use twice to get a feel for what they are doing for my skin. ~$12
