Starting with the Zon, I picked up quite a few things in May. Including that super functional backpack I talked about a few weeks ago that was perfect for waltzing around the zoo. I also snagged this cute blue ruffle top, (wore in our engagement photos) as well as three kimonos. After getting to know Mica, from Away from the Blue, I knew I needed to add kimonos to my must have list. Mica proves they're functional in the mom-est of ways. So far, I totally agree. My favorite of the three was the beige one. I may have gotten overly excited and purchased the mint one after the beige one came in the mail. I don't like the mint one as much though. The elephant one is just huge on me. (pictured in above photo and below). Reviews claimed it to run small, but it's easily double my normal size. I should have sized down. It's still very comfortable, but I wish it fit more like the other two.

I live for a good thrift. My three thrift buys of the month had me grinning from ear to ear. I remember wanting this windowpane print top last fall and it was one of those tops that was constantly sold out of my size. The mauve blouse has become a total favorite of mine, though Joshua refers to it as my sheep farmer top. Whatever, I love this color on me. The black and white cardigan was a nice addition to my otherwise solid colored cardigans. All items were new with tags and major steals!

I used to hate JC Penney. Still, they aren't my favorite place to shop and I don't see the store sticking around too many more years. It's pretty much a ghost town when I do go and I find the store hard to navigate. However, when my boss was telling me about their huge clearance they were having, I had to go check it out. Oatmeal is one of my favorite colors to wear and this cardigan is now my third Oatmeal colored cardigan! I'm a strong believer in the you can never have too many basics, theory. Though I didn't find a lot of things during the sale, this cardigan made the trip worth it. It's so well made and not too heavy, but not too light. I also picked up this 100% Rayon olive tank from the brand Arizona that I wore to the zoo a few weeks ago under my elephant print kimono. I like it, but it tends to stretch awkwardly. I purchased it in a size up, since rayon has a tendency to shrink terribly. Looking back, I wish I would have just stuck to my normal size.

There's what I bought in the month of May! I love doing posts like this, though the initial idea came from the lovely Shea, from the blog Shea Lennon. I loved the way she kept tabs on her monthly spending and it has been such an awesome way to keep mine to a minimum. As far as hobbies go, I consider getting dressed in the morning to be a hobby of mine. I love figuring out new outfits and the best ways to make my wardrobe the best for a busy office working mom of one. I draw much inspiration from my fellow mom blogs like Mica, Shea, and Sierra. Without inspiration from other busy moms, my wardrobe would be a a sad, sad place!

What did you buy last month?
