FEBRUARY EMPTIESMarch 07, 2016
Oops. Second week of March say what? Whatever, better late than never right? Here are the products I used up in the month of February complete with short little descriptions on why you should care.
Tony Moly I'm Real Sheet Masks - Don't throw tomatoes, but I think a lot of these are backed by some unintentional hype. I say unintentional because, c'mon, they're adorable, cheap, and staring you right in the face at check out. I mean, is it me or do these suckers whisper "bye me, bye me," after your hands are full of other unintentional purchases. I mean, you only went in for an eyebrow pencil, right? Mixed feelings aside, if you're interested in jumping on the bandwagon, I do believe the aloe one has some real results. Temporary, but real.
Would I buy them again? Here and there, sure.
Crest Kids Training Toothpaste - Honestly I hate that this is the toothpaste we use for Pen. I wanted to use organic, all natural on her, because 80% of the products I use on her are. However, after trying 4 different brands of kids toothpaste at my local health food store, this is the only one that doesn't give her some kickin breath. This was approved by our Pediatrician and less than the size of a grain of rice is all you need!
Would I buy it again? Yes, Until I find something that works better. Always ask your doctor before using any kind of toothpaste in your kiddo's mouth!
Colgate Optic 3D white toothpaste - From now on, always expect one of these suckers to be in here. I don't see us changing toothpaste brands any time soon.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - One of my favorite mascaras!
Would I buy it again? YES! - Don't go for the waterproof though! (see below)
Andalous Naturals 1000 Roses foaming facial cleanser - Vegan, non GMO, available at local health food stores, Amazon, and now, Target! However, be careful because Target jacks the prices of this line!
Would I buy it again? The smell is quite strong. I think at most, this cleanser is basic and didn't do tremendous things for my acne prone combo skin. If you have "normal" skin (whatever the heck that means) I think this would work well. It is slightly drying, being a foam cleanser. I could see me going back to this in the summer when oil control is a must.
Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo - My favorite dry shampoo. I've purchased many many times!
Boots No.7 Stay Perfect Primer - Affordable, drugstore primer. Silicone based. Contains Talc.
Would I buy this again? No. It performed basic at best.
Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant - Aluminum and paraben free at an affordable price.
Would I buy it again? Yes, and I have. Do I think this is the best natural deodorant out there? No. This stuff is funny. I can go weeks and be fine and then one day I think I smell. Not a smell I think anyone else could smell, just myself. I think I will continue to look for a natural deodorant that works all of the time, but for now, you really cant beat this price.
Hada Labo Replenishing Hydrator - Supposedly a bottle of this stuff is sold every 2 seconds in Japan. It's concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid are supposed to smooth lines and plump dehydrated skin.
Would I buy it again? This is a tough question. The stuff is very thin. Borderline water. I found the product very messy and odd to apply. As of right now, I am not sure of any real benefits it provided to my skin. Perhaps in the future I would use it again. It did feel very cooling on my skin. Another con is the bottle and no way to predict how much is left.
Y.S. Ecobees Organic Unpasteurized Honey - I'll never stop using this stuff.
Honest Company Detangling Spray - This is no stranger to my empties posts and we have already purchased another. My child has very curl hair that gets tangly. This stuff is holy grail status for a toddler.
Now Foods Pomegranate Night Cream - Affordable night moisturizer minus all the questionable ingredients.
Would I buy it again? For now no. Trying new things and this was just a standard, thicker moisturizer. It's great for anyone interested in trying the brand though and does a good job overall.
Nugg Flaxseed and Peppermint Face Mask Pod - I tried all of the Nugg brand mask pods available at Target, back in December.
Would I buy it again? Yes. As I mentioned in December, this is the only one that I noticed results from. Every so often, I will pick one up.
DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT:
For the most part, I consider myself an extremely frugal being. I hate throwing products away that haven't been used up. Typically if something is unusable, I'll return it. As we all know, there are some instances where we insist on making something work, which results in us holding onto something long than we should have. The products below just didn't make the cut and could not be used up. Spoiler alert, I hated all of them.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof formula - Being a HUGE fan of the original formula, I wasn't too upset when I got home and noticed I had purchased the waterproof addition. I mean, how different could it be? WAY DIFFERENT. IT COULD BE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. To put it lightly, I have never seen my mascara wind up on my upper lip.
OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco shampoo & conditioner - This just did nothing for my curly, damaged from a perm, oily hair. It never actually cleaned my hair. OGX has some decent products, but this was a huge miss for me.
