EATER BUDDYMarch 28, 2016
Yes, you read the title correctly. "Eater buddy," Pen's pronunciation of Easter Bunny. It's precious. I mean, why would I correct her? Our Easter weekend left us oh so spoiled. So much so that this was a Monday that represented what, in fact, a Monday is. Sure, it's rainy, windy, and cold today, but just 24 hours, even 48 hours ago, it wasn't.
Our weekend began as it always does with dinner, usually tacos, at my parent's house. Sometimes we take dessert and this time Joshua found Hunger Games cupcakes I simply couldn't say no to. Team Gale... cough cough (Follow me on Snapchat According2Kiki).
Saturday, the sun was shining, the tank was clean-er.... sorry too much Finding Nemo in my life as we prepare for Finding Dory! Anyway, the sun was shining, but it was a bit breezy. We began our morning with our bi-weekly Target run and picked up a few things to make side dishes for our Easter lunch with family. I scored some Miss Spa sheet masks buy 3 get 1 free! In my opinion, these are so much more effective than the Tony Moly brand. More on that in my empties post... Joshua spent the evening making cake balls that were shaped like eggs. The outcome was delicious, the clean up, not so much. How can he be so good at baking, but so messy at the same time?
Alas, Easter Sunday. Whereas I would love to tell you that we woke up early and went to church, I dont want to lie. I attended church my entire life. Going to church used to be special. Then, the church I attended fell into some money and they thought it best to move and build a enormous facility with touch screens, indoor play places, and stadium seating. I don't know about you, but I'm a stained glass, choir, church type of gal. It broke my heart, and I don't think I will ever fully recover. Maybe I'll write about it one day, but that's it in a nutshell.
Penelope woke up Sunday with some sniffles. We over excited her with her Easter basket and a handful of poorly hidden eggs. We kept the basket humble and practical, mostly full of coloring supplies and bubbles. Of course there was a chocolate bunny and two clothing items. Really... some parents go bonkers for Easter and it's kind of gross...
We managed to get cute and make it over to his aunts by 1. I seriously cant tell you enough amazing things about the weather. Like why why why did it not roll over into Monday? It was one of those "hey I totally lost my phone hours ago, but dont really give a damn about it" type afternoons. The weather was just too perfect and those toddlers keep me young and active. We spent most of the time on the trampoline (the kiddos loved it) and did another little egg hunt. By then, Penelope was a pro. I had to steal eggs out of her basket and toss them in our nephew's to be fair. (; Shhh don't tell her. All in all, it was a lovely weekend and I can't wait for more weather like it!
How was your Easter?
