THE FRIDAY POST IIDecember 11, 2015
Let's just say it's been a week. Or better yet, two weeks. No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get back into the swing of things following the Thanksgiving break we had. I feel rushed, my lists of things to do are all starting to run together and I'm out of post it notes, again. Dont get me wrong, I love the holidays, but man oh man am I ready for a vacation. Somewhere warm. Perhaps on some deserted island where I can exist in a electronic-less world and live off the land?
Back up. Ok, so I'm not quite ready to give up all life's luxuries. Like my Glad pine scented air puffer thing that I have set to spray every ten minutes. Or my Whiskers on Kittens Yankee Candle that smells like blankets, and warm cozy existence. We are so spoiled by the little things in life, have you ever stopped to think what you'd bring if you were stranded? Well, Stephanie and I did, and it was the perfect prompt for our weekly ramblings, The Friday Post.
Stephanie and I are beauty junkies. Today, we're sharing our top 5 beauty products that would somehow make it into a bag and tag along with us if we were ever marooned on a desert island. Or if we escaped to one? Certainly that's the option I'd choose. A gal can't pack under pressure.
1// Boots Botanics Rose Toner Spritz - An avid user since July, I'm thoroughly convinced I cannot live without this stuff.
2// Y.S. Eco Bees Organic, Unpasteurized Honey - How about a two in one product? Kills nasty bacteria living on your skin AND makes whatever food you manage to find taste a little bit better. If you remember back to this post , this honey was and still is, what holds my skin routine together. Oh, and I should mention it tastes quite nice in ground turkey with a dash of chili powder for taco night.
3// Andalou Facial Lotion with SPF 18 - Sunscreen is a pretty obvious product for me. I'm so pale I nearly glow in the dark. It's tricky finding a facial sunscreen that doesn't break you out. I've been enjoying this one.
4// Boots Botanics Facial Oil - Another product I'm pretty positive I couldn't live without. I use this at night after my moisturizer to lock in hydration. I wake up with the softest skin! Stephanie turned me to this product and I'm about to be on my second bottle!
5// LypSyl - With all that heat and deserted-ness, you'd probably be super dehydrated. I simply can't stand the feel of chapped lips. It was a no brainer to include my holy grail lip balm.
Makeup seemed silly to me. If I was on a desert island I think my skincare would be priority over what shade of lipstick the critters would find most appealing. Although, I did debate if liquid eyeliner could be entertaining as well as useful? I mean, think of all the Wilsons you could draw. I also decided to skip the hair products. Honestly I'd probably shave my head in such scenario. Let's face it, my hair would turn into one giant dread from the humidity anyway.
