NOVEMBER EMPTIESDecember 08, 2015
Over the weekend, I was more than proud to discover a boat load of empty products patiently awaiting their reviews. I decided that from now on, According to Kiki would not be a place for product reviews unless they are gone, used up, or expired. This has never been an exclusive beauty blog. I'm just a mama of one that loves to put makeup on, affordable fashion, and lives an average life. I'm not a beauty blogger, and would never want to be a blog people visit to read up about the hottest eye shadow palette or liquid lipstick. I don't know everything about the beauty world, and in fact, I'm learning new tips, tricks and technique every single day from fellow bloggers and tubers. The products you'll see here today, and on future empties posts, were used with the intent to use up. I feel as if you really know the ins and outs of a product once you've squeezed the life out of it.
With that being said....
Caress Fine Fragrance Body Wash in Love Forever - These promise a lasting scent you can smell hours after you shower. Don't we all wish we had that right out of the shower smell all day long?
Would I buy it again? Yes, but not right now. I'm some what of a body wash junkie. I rarely buy the same one twice and at any given time I have at least two shower gels of sorts in my shower. I really enjoyed this stuff and the scent did last roughly 4 hours post shower.
OGX Teatree Mint Conditioner - Smells and feels extremely invigorating.
Would I buy it again? For now no. Nothing against the product, I just want to try other things. I was using this as a once a week clarifying wash and it left me feeling super clean and fresh. I highly recommend if you're a minty fan.
Acure Night Cream - Plant stem cells seem to be the new thing when it comes to keeping your face youthful and hydrated. This was a new to me product I picked up from Target, but can be purchased on Amazon as well.
Would I buy it again? Yes and no. I did really enjoy the cooling effect the lavender oils in the moisturizer gave my skin. However, I find I can achieve that same feel by adding a drop of lavender essential oil to my current (cheaper) organic face moisturizer. This stuff felt lovely on my skin, but is double the price of my current night time moisturizer with the same results. If ever I can't find my current, Now Organics Night cream, I will repurchase this.
Dickinson Witch Hazel toner - Another affordable, easily available product. This particular brand as an Allure best in beauty award.
Would I buy it again? Yes, in the Spring. As the cooler weather moves in, I find this is too drying on my skin. However for the warmer months, it really helps oil control.
The Honest Company Detangler spray- The Honest Company is a eco-friendly, chemical free company that specializes in baby and toddler products. From lotions to cleaning products, I have yet to find something in this line we dislike.
Would I buy it again? Yes. This is probably our 4th bottle of this. Makes brushing tangled toddler curls a breeze!
Maybelline Master Conceal - One of the thicker, better drugstore concealers out there.
Would I buy it again? For now no. I have a mess of concealers to get through first. I found this one was particularly beneficial for days I had a big pimple. It wasn't ideal for under the eyes in my opinion, but an overall pretty good concealer.
Suave Light Weight Weather Proof Cream - This was a recommendation by Elle, over at Elle Sees blog.
Would I buy it again? Yes, and I have twice since hearing her review of it. I works great with my permed hair!
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel topcoat - When these first came out, it seemed like I was the only person alive who liked them. Sure I never got the 14 day wear the package suggested, but I did manage to have a nice almost a week manicure.
Would I buy it again? Yes. When my bottle ran out, I rushed out to buy more. I was nervous to see it had been reformulated and the above bottle is no longer sold. Now, the top should say 101 instead of the older 100 formula. I am happy to report that I love this new formula and it is worth checking out if you weren't a fan of the 100! But don't expect it to last 14 days. I mean, come on, it's $8.
Curel Itch Defense Body Wash- Sadly, another Influenster dud.
Would I buy it again? No. As I mentioned above, this was sent to me. Along with a product I used up last month. This stuff left the strangest residue on my skin. I was happy to use it up.
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter - If you love peaches, and enjoy the thick consistency of body butters, this product is definitely up your alley.
Would I buy it again? This was a gift, and for now, I'm reaching for seasonal scents. I've always enjoyed The Body Shop's body butters and would probably repurchase this scent in the future. These are amazing for dry feet!
Vegas Nay Classic Charm Lashes - So far, these are my favorite lashes on the market! They aren't "empty," but this set is just old.
Would I buy them again? Yes, and I have. The band of these lashes is so thin, I can get them ridiculously close to my natural lash line. I like to wear these without liner and with a bold lip. The adhesive that comes with is fantastic!
Suave Professionals Luxe Curl Gel - Affordable, smells great, ideal for curl shaping.
Would I buy it again? Probably not. I prefer the weather proof cream over the gel consistency of this product, but both are pretty nice and super affordable.
NOW foods Green Tea and Pomegranate Day Cream - A light weight, day cream perfect for under your makeup.
Would I buy it again? Yes, and I already have. This stuff is wonderful and free of iffy ingredients.
Simple Makeup Wipes - Free of dyes and parabens. Lacks capability to remove longwear makeup.
Would I buy it again? No. The quality of these wipes have gone out the window. I'll be searching elsewhere.
Crazy to think we're already into the second week of December, yes?
What products did you manage to use up last month?
