Weekending: Independence DayJuly 06, 2015
Thursday work was kind enough to let us go two hours early and we had the opportunity to get dinner with a friend who lives out of town. We also used that dinner to celebrate Joshua's new position at work!
Socks: Carter's. Shoes: Garanimals .
Bow: Target Dollarspot.
Friday we enjoyed a quiet little cookout with Joshua's dad and stepmom before heading downtown for an hour for what the Hall of Fame city calls "First Friday." The theme that night was Chalk the Walk and if you follow me on Instagram , you saw some pretty rad side walk chalk artistry. Speaking of art, we also took the opportunity to walk around downtown's art gallery.

Summer finally decided to grace us with it's presence this weekend with temps in the high 80's. It was a drastic change from the earlier in the week 60's but no one was complaining. We spent Saturday at the lake house surrounded by family and good food. Penny had her very first ride on the boat and watched fireworks for the first time since last year. She was just a wee thing and it didn't really phase her last year. My nephew actually slept through them.
Dress: Elle, Kohls ON SALE . Cardigan: New York & Co. (old).
I'm totally obsessed with this dress I picked up on super sale at Kohls. So much so that I went back and purchased it in another print. With vacation right around the corner, I knew they'd come in handy.
Dress: Carter's (purchased last year). Shoes: Garanimals (see link above).
Bow: Target Dollar spot.
Sunday was spent low key under the shade of my grandparent's tree. We enjoyed some burgers and dogs and celebrated my Poppie's (dad's dad) birthday. Penny got into the sidewalk chalk (photo above) and wore herself out playing in the back yard.
Happy Birthday Pop!
