Local Eats: Dog DazeJune 17, 2015
Just a quick 5 minute drive from our apartment is a local spot known for their Not your average hot dogs. It's been a fan favorite of ours since we moved to this part of town and we constantly recommend it to others. After an evening at the park, we were all dying for some grub!
everyone looking angry as they ponder their options...
Pen knows what she wants!
The menu is simple, yet there's truly something for everyone. If hot dogs aren't your thing, try a hamburger or homemade mac and cheese. They also have a nice selection of sandwiches.
Never the less, I stayed true to my diggity dog self and ordered the Texan Dog. An all beef frank, homemade spicy chili sauce, onions, jalapenos, and sour cream. It's packed with flavor, heat and all the best parts of summer. As I got my spice on, Penny enjoyed the Brooklyn dog, an all beef dog topped with their homemade Mac and Cheese.
Joshua ordered the Sonoran Dog, an all beef dog wrapped and deep fried in bacon, with refried beans, salsa, and cheddar cheese. As well as the Frito Bandito, all the fixins of the Texan Dog, topped with crushed Frito's. #heartattack
To wrap up our dinner, Pen and I shared a cup of their homemade Peanut butter and chocolate chip ice cream. Something new they added just this year.
This is a family owned, locally run business. We see the same faces each and every time we go and always leave happy. It doesn't get more mom and pop than that. Just ten minutes away from the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it's a complete straight shot down the street if you're looking for some local greatness this summer.
