June Loves & LemonsJune 29, 2015
Did I just type that correctly? Is it really the end of June? This past month was a lot to take in. From personal issues, to dealing with the death of a coworker, June kicked my butt. Sadly most of the month was spent me wishing it away. July brings a fresh slate.
Colourpop Kathleen Lights Collection Super Shock Shadow in Blaze - I'm worried about my love for this color. It's grazed my eyes almost every day since it's arrival. It's smokey, golden subtle shimmer gives such a natural glow and makes for one heck of a crease color. This limited edition shadow can be found the the Kathleen Lights Quad and comes with three other bronze neutrals for just $20!
L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail Polish in Butterfly Kisses - Just enough pink, just enough purple I'm in LOVE. Serious repeat on my nails this month. Not to mention it performs beautifully with the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Topcoat. A fan favorite of mine with not only their own gel line, but with other polish as well. I got a total 9 days wear before I had a single chip.
Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Pretty Natural - I know it seems with each month brings a new lippie favorite. Where I haven't sworn off last month's fav or even the month before that, I'm a girl who loves a good lipstick. Milani lipsticks smell lovely, are hydrating, and have outstanding stay power. Pretty Natural has been a shade I've been grabbing a lot of lately. When I want to wear a funky eye shadow color, it always compliments.
Olay ProX Advanced Cleansing Brush - At first I was bitter about this purchase. On line it retails at Walmart for $30, at Drugstore.com for $24, and where I purchased it at Walgreen's, $40! Not to mention the exfoliating cleanser that came with the Walgreen's set was half the size of the one that came with the Walmart set. I was annoyed, but convinced myself it was better than dropping $300+ for similar skincare tools. After the first two weeks I noticed a HUGE difference in my pores, and whoa nelly I have some big ones. I use it about every four days with concentration on my dry patches and areas with large pores with my Simple Moisturizing Facial Cleanser . I 110% recommend this brush, but the exfoliating scrub it comes with is just ok, I would not purchase the full size.
Sweet Almond Oil - In the past I've been a makeup removing wipe kind of girl. Sadly all those wipes in the trash started to make me feel less than Eco friendly. I researched alternative ways to remove long wear makeup and came up with this. Being an oily skinned girl, I was worried the added oils to my skin would be disastrous, but the results actually shocked me. Not only does it take even hard to remove Colourpop shadows and water proof liner, but it actually hydrates all those stubborn dry patches. I've also noticed a significant difference in the fullness of my eyelashes. If you haven't tried this stuff, you're missing out!
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour Foundation - Every bit of me wanted this highly raised foundation to work. If you're a YouTube junkie, like myself, you've seen this baby everywhere. With my oily skin, I thought this foundation would be holy grail for me. WRONG-O. This stuff is patch city, with a sponge, a brush, your fingers. For the life of me I can't seem to make it spread evenly. It's been a good two month war trying to make this stuff work with my face and it just doesn't. From latching to my dry patches, to melting off my chin, this is a no no for me.
Maybelline Master Glaze - I could not make this work to save my life. I had purchased this with intentions of using it to contour. Instead, I just looked murky. Like the Nessy climbing out of the depths of the Loche. Keep in mind I have pretty oily skin, with some dehydrated spots. Maybe this would work for the dryer girls?
This is my second time participating in the Love and Lemons segment first seen on Kristen over at glambunctious! It's been fun sharing the negative side of product testing as well as my monthly favorites. I highly suggest you join!
