2014... Let it go....let it go....

January 02, 2015

Ready to kill me yet? If you're one of those anti-Frozen, "no, I do NOT want to build a snowman" people, then I apologize. It just seemed to fit my morning feels.

If you haven't noticed by now, (hopefully because you are new) the site has undergone a bit of revamping since last week. Hey, I figured it was time for a face-lift. After all, those "New Year, new me," Facebook posts were beginning to rub off on me.

Speaking of, I hope everyone had a safe New Years Eve/ Day. I know most of you are probably sick of hearing this, but I cannot believe 2014 is over. As the count down commenced and the ball began to drop I looked at Joshua and started bawling. Of course he looked at me like I was crazy. After we shared our New Years kiss, I managed to sob the words, "we had a baby last year." I'm naturally a very emotional person, so he wasn't surprised at my antics.

So lets talk resolutions, and how much I am sick of seeing posts all over social media about them. As I've grown older, I've also become a bit wiser. Rather than lose weight, eat better, get skinny and tell every one on Facebook, for the last few years my "resolutions" have been more internally focused. Sort of like, worry less, love more, and be selfless. Honestly I think those are the best sort of resolutions to make. This year, I'm adding one more to that list and sadly, yes, it's the title of a very popular, very ear wormy song. Let. It. Go. I'm one of those people who let people get under my skin. Who compares myself to others. It puts so much negativity into my life and I'm at an age where that's completely unnecessary. My 2015 motto will be to just let it go...

 I cant wait to get back to my regular blogging schedule next week, I have some great recipes to share with you guys! I'd like to wrap up this week with a few of my favorite baby memories from 2014. Have a wonderful weekend and I cant wait to connect with you all next week.

Those very first moments.

Watching her grow.

.......

In a little over a month she will be one. Seriously, where has the time gone?

What are some of your resolutions?
Do you think they are sort of dumb?
What was your favorite memory of 2014?

    1. Nothing wrong with no resolutions. It's better to just go with the flow anyway. (;

  9. Aww, your daughter is so sweet! I feel I say that on most every post with her in it, but look at her! She's adorable, how can I not keep pointing it out? :)

    I think your idea for internal resolutions is a good one. I've tried to set loads of resolutions in the past and of course I forget them all in a few months! Better to just have a few things you want to focus on and make it manageable :)

    I hope 2015 is an incredible year for you! :)

    1. Thank you Mica! I hope your year is great as well. I think internal resolutions and those focused more toward attitude are the best way to improve your over all happiness. Rather than telling yourself you'll lose ten pounds and feeling like crap when you give up in a month. (;

  12. Your blog looks so fabulous! Also, I feel you on the resolutions... I make monthly goals instead-- so much more manageable :) And I really like your words for this year. There's a lot I have to let go of too, especially as we are still transitioning into our first year of marriage and our new location. Lots of hugs and well-wishes for the New Year, my friend!

    1. Thank you so much Daisy! I enjoy reading your monthly goals. Moving is such a stressful thing. Even though we've managed to stay in the same city, our last two moves were horrible. I'm way too neat of a person to deal with moving. That's why we are staying put until we find a house in the country. I think this New Year will be very eventful! Thanks for reading and always being so positive. (:
