Tasty Tuesday: Simple, Christmas Morning Breakfast

December 30, 2014

As hostess of my very first Christmas morning, I knew I wanted to make something easy, but at the same time, wow-worthy. After quite a few Pinterest searches I stumbled upon the perfect Christmas morning breakfast.

Rise & Shine Casserole
1 can biscuits
10 eggs
Bacon bits
Milk
Desired cheese
Salt & Pepper

This is really one of the easiest recipes to grace this blog. Broken record much, right? But seriously, this is perfect if you're having people over for the holidays, or just feel like a nice weekend breakfast at home.

I began by preheating the oven to 350. Using a roll of biscuits, I broke them into fourths and lined them up in a glass casserole dish.

Next I beat ten eggs in a bowl along with a bit of milk, salt and pepper. All hail the Christmas morning look I'm rocking here. No judging, it was 6 am.

After pouring my beat eggs over the biscuits I sprinkled a bag of bacon bits across the top. I used bacon bits purely for time's sake, you could totally use cut up strips of bacon.

It baked for roughly a half hour and was pulled ten minutes before it was ready to throw some mozzarella on top. Not only did this feed everyone, the compliments never stopped. I will definitely make this again, perhaps even for dinner one night when we have company. It feeds an army.

What did you eat Christmas morning?

    1. If it was just Joshua and I, I'd add some green onion, maybe some broccoli? But with a bunch of people over, I figured I'd keep it pretty basic. Enjoy!

  12. Oh yum, that looks so good and sounds so easy to make! Perfect for Christmas morning! :)

I just had toast for Christmas breakfast - in between getting the lunch ready and opening presents. Christmas is always such a busy time, that's why I enjoy when we sit down for the meal, slows it all down again and we get to relax and savour the moment and the people we are with.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to 2015! :) Was your adorable little daughter excited by Santa's gifts? I bet she was so happy!

    1. Aw thanks Mica, you are so sweet. (: She was very over whelmed with the opening process but as the day went on, she started to get more and more into it. She loves her toys, her favorite being a Minnie Mouse ride a long airplane. Her first birthday is in February, so hopefully she will be better at opening presents then. (:
