Thrifty Thursday: Penny's Closet

November 13, 2014

As I mentioned previously, the babes has been quickly outgrowing (length wise) most of her clothes. For the most part she's in size 9 M but the occasional 12 M sweater fits here and there. As we attempted to savor these last 60 degree days I knew that the "jacket weather" was soon coming to an end. With that being said, I shipped Joshua off to baby shop while I attended a some bridesmaid duties for my best friends up coming nuptials. (Don't worry there will be lots of wedding posts coming soon!)
He always does a great job. So as I harped as he walked out the door, I'm not sure what I was worried about.

(Carter's & Gymboree)

For a man that builds things for a living, he sure does have a knack at picking out little girl clothes. You could say beneath those dirty, rough hands there's a heart of gold.
My favorites were the bow onesie and the little Minnie dress! I simply can't wait for her to wear it.
All of these were purchased from Once Upon a Child resale shop for about. They are the BEST when it comes to gently used and occasionally new baby clothes.

On top of the already great deals, you get a little stamp card. Every time you spend $10 you get a stamp. When the card is full, you get 15% off your next purchase. Awesome right? Well it gets better. If you buy this $4 reusable Once Upon a Child tote, you get an additional $2 off every time you spend at least $10! Holy wow deal-ness!

    1. I've become a pro at it. My best friend is who got me into it. She finds these beautiful antique furniture pieces and J.Crew sweaters for pennies on the dollar. She taught me all I know. (:

    1. haha thanks Lenya. She grows like a weed! I love shopping at Carter's and Target for brand new stuff, but without great sales their prices are outrageous! When she only gets a months wear out of something it seems silly to spend a ton. (:

  4. That bow onesie is my FAVORITE! He did an awesome job. I love how you write there is a heart of gold behind rough hands. Reminds me of my boyfriend, Spencer. He is a craftsman in his spare time and you'd never guess that he could come up with some of the sweetest ideas!

    1. Daisy you'll have a blast. I have so much fun shopping for her. Not that I want her to grow up, but I cant wait til she's walking and we can do dresses again. Putting her in them now is cruel because she just face plants. haha

    1. It's all about location. My area has a lot of super cute locally owned boutiques that are new, thrift, consignment and resale shops. Once Upon a Child is a chain store, but I do enjoy visiting the local ones as well. (:
